Passage: Genesis 42:1 – 43:14

Main Point: Surrender to God’s leading toward forgiveness, healing and hope.
I. God uses famine to put a family on the road to forgiveness. (1-17)
A. Joseph’s past pain is addressed in God’s way, in God’s time.
B. My instinct is to force my way, God calls me to surrender.
C. God positions me for grace receiving and grace giving.
II. The road to forgiveness passes through confession. (18-25)
A. Conviction comes with instruction.
B. Agreeing on core truth is essential for reconciliation.
C. God’s provides for us, even before we repent. (cf. Romans 2:4)
III. The road to forgiveness is Jesus Christ himself. (26 – 43:14)
A. Without forgiveness, guilt follows where ever I go.
B. I can own my sin, but I can’t afford the cost.
C. Judah is a picture of Christ offering himself for me.
D. Rest in the hands of the Redeemer.
