Passage:  Romans 5:12-21

Main Point:  The reign of life has replaced the reign of death.

I. Sin entered the world through Adam.  (12-14)
            A. Death spread to all from one man.
            B. The period without the Law still saw death.
            C. Adam is a type of Christ.

II. Condemnation in Adam leads to justification in Christ.  (15-19)
            A. The trespass brings death but the gift brings grace.
            B. Sin brings judgment but the gift brings justification.
            C. The reign of death is replaced by the reign of life.
            D. One trespass is replaced by one act of justification.
            E. One man’s disobedience is corrected by one man’s obedience.

III. Eternal life is in Jesus Christ our Lord.  (20-21)
            A. The Law only revealed the sin.
            B. The reign of death yields to the reign of grace.
