Main Point: The Lord is slow to anger but great in power.
I. God is merciful.
A. God gave Nineveh an opportunity to change.

B. God gives the world a chance to change.
II. God is just.
A. Nineveh comes to the end of God’s patience.
B. No one will escape a reckoning with God.
III. God is in control.
A. Every prophecy made about Nineveh is fulfilled.
1. It was destroyed during drunkenness. (v 1:10)
2. It was destroyed by a flood. (v 1:8; 2:6,8)
3. It was burned. (v 3:13)
4. It was never rebuilt. (v 3:19)
5. It was hidden (until the 1800’s). (v3:11)
B. The faithful trust in the plan of God.
