Main Point:  Believers are called to confess the sins of a whole nation.

I. “Wake Up!”    (Chap 1)
            A. A plaque of locusts is the platform for a sermon.
            B. The people mourn the loss.  
                        1. There are no grapes for wine.   (v 5-7)
                        2. There are no supplies for the temple.   (v 9)
                        3. There is no water for the land.   (v 12)
                        4. There are fires across the land.   (v 20)

II. “Turn to Me!”   (Chap 2)
            A. The day of the Lord is coming.  
            B. The Lord calls for repentance.   (v 12-13)
            C. The Lord promises His Holy Spirit.
                  (See Acts 2:14-21)

III. “I will restore!”    (Chap 3)
            A. God will restore Israel and judge her enemies.   (v 1-2)
            B. We must choose the Lord’s way now.   (v 14)
                        1. The time for action is now.
                        2. The threat to our faith is now.
                        3. The time to examine our hearts is now.
