Passage:  Genesis 34:1-31

Main Point:  Trust God boldly:  read His Word, pray and walk on.

I. Bold steps of obedient faith result in freedom and growth.  (v1-7)
            A. Fear slowed Jacob’s walk of faith and dulled his leadership.   (Galatians 2:20)
            B. Don’t flirt with temptation – seek accountability.
            C. Don’t delay to do what is right.

II. God’s people can be derailed by deception.  (8-24)
            A. The world tries to sell me what God has freely given.
            B. Outward works cannot cover the shame of sin.
            C. Many are spiritually stunted by the pursuit of material gain.

III. God’s people can let go of sin because of the blood of Christ.  (25-31)
            A. Revenge makes a mockery of salvation’s price.
            B. Genesis 34 ends with no resolution – we need God to intervene.
            C. Walk forward with Jesus and don’t look back.
