The Name Maker (Genesis 10-11, 12:2)

Passage:  Genesis 10:1-11:32, 12:2

Main Point:  God opposes pride and brings me to the place of trusting in Him.

I. God is the Lord over all the nations. (10:1-32)
            A. All humanity belongs to one race.  (Acts 17:26a)
            B. The sin of rebellion is mankind’s default nature.
            C. Our God has blessed all the nations.  (Genesis 1:28, 9:1, 9:7)

II. Believe that God is good and kind. (11:1-9)
           
A. Stop trying to make a name for yourself.
            B. God came down while we were trying to work our way up.
            C. The Gospel begins with the word, “Repent”.

III. Worship the promised Son who rules over every nation.
            A. Rebellion and babel do not stop God’s salvation plan.
            B. God’s plan is to bless all through One.  
                  (Genesis 12:2, Psalm 72:8-11, Isaiah 19:23-25, Matthew 28:19,
Revelation 5:9-10)
            C. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow.  (Philippians 2:10)
