The Man of Sin (Revelation 13:1-10)

Main Point:  The Antichrist is the devil’s last grasp for glory.

I. The beast is identified by his appearance.   (1-2a)  (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)           
A. He comes from the Gentiles.
            B. He is the ruler foretold in Scripture.
                        1.  Revelation 17:9-10 – The seven heads are seven empires.

                        2.  Revelation 17:12-13 – The horns are ten kings of the last beast.
                        3.  Daniel 7:1-7, 19-25 – The four beasts represent kingdoms.
                        4.  Daniel 2:31-45 – The four metals represent kingdoms.
            C. The Antichrist is the world and the devil’s last stand

II. The beast is empowered by the dragon.   (2b-4)
            A. The devil provides the power, throne and authority.
            B. The Antichrist appears to be resurrected.
            C. The whole world worships the dragon and his man.

III. The beast blasphemes God and His Temple.   (5-10)
            A. The antichrist dominates the second half of the tribulation.
            B. He wages war against the saints.
            C. The world lurches and rages toward the end.
