Passage:  Ephesians 1:3-14
Speaker:  Pastor Ron Laeger
Main Idea:  The entirety of the Tri-unity of God was dynamically working together in the creation of this new magnificent body.

I. It was planned by the Father (1:3-6)
         A. He blessed us. (1:3)
         B. He chose us. (1:4)
                  1. When this occurred (1:4a) “Before the  foundation of the world.”
                  2. Why this occurred (1:4b) That we might be holy and without fault in His eyes”
         C. He adopted us (1:5-6)
TO WHAT END? “to the praise of the glory of His grace.”

II. It was purchased by the Son (1:7-12).
         A. What Jesus did (1:7-10)
                  1.  He redeemed us by His blood (1:7-8)
                  2.  He will someday gather us in His name (1:9-10)
         B. Why Jesus did it (1:11-12): In accordance with the plan of His will.
TO WHAT END? “we would be to the praise of His glory!“

III. It is preserved by the Spirit (1:13-14)
            A. What the Holy Spirit does: (1:13)
                        He brings the message of truth so we listen to the gospel and we believe. Listening – believing – sealing
            B. How the Holy Spirit does it: (1:14)
                        His presence or seal applies the benefits of our redemption. We’re God’s possession(4:30)
TO WHAT END? “to the praise of His glory!“
