The Changeless God (Psalm 102, Malachi 3, James 1)

Main Point:  God will never change His mind about His own.

I. God is unchanging and unchangeable.
            A. Unchanging means God does not change.
            B. Unchangeable means God cannot change.

II. The Bible teaches that God does not change.
            A. Psalm 102:24-27 – God is the same forever.
            B. Malachi 3:6-7 – God is consistent.
            C. James 1:17 – God does not vary.
            D. Genesis 6:6 – God is the reference point.

III. Because God is unchanging, I can rest in Him.
            A. God loves me forever.
                        1.  His love does not depend on my mood.
                        2.  His love for me does not change.
                        3.  His love for me cannot be changed.
                                    •    God is stronger than I am.
                                    •    God loves me with an infinite love.
                                    •    God is unchangeable.
                                    •    Therefore, he will never forsake me.
                                    •    He will discipline me as needed.
            B. God’s Word is valid today.
            C. Others may change but God never does.
