Passage:  Genesis 32:1-32

Main Point:  Don’t DIY — let God fight for you and believe He cares for you.

I. God prepares us for what is ahead.  (v.1-2)
            A. The conflict we face is spiritual.  (cf. Eph. 6:12)
            B. Be encouraged and walk in courage.

II. Deliverance only comes by faith in God.  (v.3-22)
            A. Reconciliation is required.  (cf. Rom. 5:10; Matt. 5:23-24)
            B. In every crisis, pray to the promise-keeping God.
            C. Be confident in God’s unconditional love for you.
            D. Resting in grace is hard for “do-it-yourselfers.

III. Rescue requires surrender.  (v.22-32)
            A. Jacob was fighting against God.
            B. “God fights” for his people.
            C. Be strong in the Lord—remember Him.  (Eph. 6:10)
