Redeeming Praise Psalm 30  (cf. 2 Samuel 24; 1 Chronicles 21)

Passage:  Psalm 30  (cf. 2 Samuel 24; 1 Chronicles 21)

Main Point:  Cry to God for mercy and let Him change lament to praise.

I. Praise the rescuer of all who cry for help. (1-5)
            A. David was rescued by God who heals the sin-sick heart.
            B. Let your hard heart be broken and talk to God about it.
            C. We rejoice because God’s life-changing love is limitless.

II. Remember to rely on the Lord for everything. (6-10)
            A. Replace complacent forgetfulness with thankful faith.  (cf. Deuteronomy 8)
            B. The place of grace is entered through the place of need.
            C. Beloved of God, cast yourself upon the loving mercy of God.

III. We are redeemed to joyfully worship. (11-12)
            A. The sweetness of joy replaces death’s sorrow.  (cf. John 16:22)
            B. The purpose of this salvation is to redeem praise.
            C. Do not be complacent, but loudly praise the God of grace.
