Paul’s Prayer for the Ephesians (Ephesians 1:15-23)

Passage:  Ephesians 1:15-23

Main Idea:  The good news of the gospel is that God not only saves us, but that He helps us to live for Him each day.

I. Paul shows us that we should pray for fellow Christians.
      A. A Christian is someone who has placed their faith in Jesus.
      B. Christians are called to love fellow Christians.
      C. Giving thanks for fellow Christians leads us towards godliness.

II. Paul shows us how to pray for fellow Christians.
      A. Pray that they would know the hope that God has called them to.
      B. Pray that they would know the riches of their inheritance in the Christ.
      C. Pray that they would know the greatness of God’s power in their life.

III. Paul reminds us of God’s incredible power.
      A. God the Father raised Jesus from the dead defeating sin and death.
      B. God the Father has exalted Jesus now and forever
      C. God the Father has made Jesus the head of the church
