Big Idea:  Walk with a willing heart and a desire to see others grow in Christ.

I. Obedience begins with a willing heart. (1-2a)
            A. It starts with faith in Christ.
            B. Obedience is a lifestyle.
            C. Obedience is learned.
            D. True obedience comes from a heart that loves.

II. Obedience brings blessing. (2b-3)
            A. Israel’s freedom and prosperity was tied to obedience.
            B. What kids learn is likely carried into adulthood.
            C. God does not bless rebellion. (cf. 2 Tim. 3:105)

III. God designed dads to disciple. (4)
            A. The Spirit turns discouragers into encouragers.
            B. Provide spiritual and emotional nourishment.
            C. Discipline consistently and lovingly.
            D. Talk to your kids about Jesus.
