I. Don’t lose the wonder of the birth of Jesus.
            A. We celebrate “mountain top” moments.
            B. Most of life is lived on the mountain side.
            C. God’s people have hopeful expectation.

II. Jesus had a normal family experience.  (Luke 2:17-20, 33, 39-40)
            A. Faith matters most in day-by-day living, not mountaintop experiences.
            B. After the miraculous, the mundane sets in.
            C. The mundane and the miraculous are both used by God.

III. If I lose the wonder, I won’t surrender.  (Luke 4:16, 21-22)
            A. My need to be in control renders me useless for the kingdom.
            B. Pay attention to what God has revealed.
            C. God’s people expect to see God at work every day.
