Passage:  1 Thessalonians 5:16-28

Main Point:  Walk in confident obedience, knowing God will finish what He began.

I. Be transformed by hoping in Jesus.  (16-18)
            A. Rejoicing becomes a lifestyle.
            B. Because your heart is always submitted to God.
            C. Because your world-view is shaped by God’s Word.  (cf. Romans 8:28)

II. Be transformed by responding to the Spirit.  (19-22)
            A. The ideas of men are not equal with God’s Word.
            B. Become truth experts.  (cf. 1 John 4:1; 1 Corinthians 2:14)
            C. Adhere to what is good and reject what is counterfeit.

III. Be transformed by believing God is able.  (v.23-28)
            A. God provides His peace to the rebellious.
            B. Sanctification works from the inside out: spirit to flesh.
            C. Rejoice that the Caller is also the faithful Doer.
