Freedom and Maturity (1 Corinthians 10:1-33)

Passage:  1 Corinthians 10:1-33

Main Point:  Whatever you eat, drink or do, do for God’s glory.

I. The Bible stories are lessons on living.  (1-13)
            A. The people of Israel are also the people of God.
            B. But God was willing to discipline them.
            C. Their story is our lesson.

II. Do not provoke the Lord.  (14-22)
            A. Live smart.
                        1.  Flee
                        2.  Avoid
                        3.  Confess
                        4.  Memorize
                        5.  Covenant
                        6.  Know yourself
                        7.  Stay in fellowship
            B. Do not compromise your allegiance.

III. Do not prevent the Lord’s work.  (23-33)
            A. Exercise your freedom with gentleness.
            B. Avoid causing offense to an unbeliever.
            C. Do everything to God’s glory.
