Passage:  Jude 1-4

Main Point:  Hold on to the truth that comes from God.

I. The church began with a single congregation.
            A. The first church was in Jerusalem in AD 33.  Acts 2:41, 4:4
            B. The church began to multiply.  Acts 8:1
            C. The church today is diverse.

II. The gospel has been under attack through the years.
            A. Jude was converted by the resurrection.  John 7:5, Acts 1:14
            B. Jude wrote 25-30 years after the resurrection.
            C. God’s enemy sows confusion through counterfeit.

III. Every generation must be true to God’s Word.
            A. The faith was delivered once for all.  (v.3)
            B. The believer must know the true gospel.  (v 4)
            C. There is no shortcut to learning.
