Passage:  Ephesians 4:25-5:2

Big Idea:  The Spirit empowers us to love others like Jesus loved us.

I.  In Christ, we are freed from serving Satan.  (25-29)
            A. We live together in the reality of the truth.
            B. Rush to reconcile, not revenge.
            C. Work to give, not take.
            D. God’s words build up, not tear down.

II. We have a fellowship of forgiveness.  (30-32)
            A. Bitterness poisons the whole inner man.
            B. Unforgiveness denies the cross.
            C. The fruit of the Spirit is rooted in forgiveness.

III. We become like our Father as we love like Jesus. (1-2)
            A. God’s kids, reflect His loving nature.
            B. God loves us as He loves Jesus. (cf. Jn. 17:23)
            C. Jesus’ sacrifice is the greatest act of love. (cf. Jn. 15:13)
