Adonai: The Lord (Isaiah 6:1-7)

Main Point:  Adonai is Lord over all of me.

I. Adonai means Lord.
            A. The word is sometimes used of men.
            B. The most frequent use is of God.

II. Adonai reveals God’s authority as Lord.
           
A. Isaiah saw the Lord’s majesty.  (Isaiah 6:1-4)
            B. God’s majesty exposes Isaiah’s sin.  (Isaiah 6:5)
            C. God’s mercy purifies Isaiah.  (Isaiah 6:6-7)

III. Because God is Lord, we are wise to trust Him.
            A. Obedience does not depend on willingness.
            B. God meets our needs.
            C. We must trust the Lord for everything.
