Passage:  Revelation 19:11-21

Main Point:  The world is cleansed by the Lord’s rule of righteousness.

I. Jesus returns just as He promised.   (11-13)
            A. Called Faithful and True, He comes to bring justice.  (Hebrews 4)
            B. The names of Jesus reveal His glory and majesty.
                        1.  Hidden—only the Godhead knows, eternal Sonship.
                        2.  Word—The Word made flesh, the incarnation.  (John 1:1)
                        3.  King of Kings, Lord of Lords—The Ruler of all.  (Isaiah 63:1-4)

II. He is joined by the armies of Heaven.   (14-16)
            A. The saints.  (1 Thessalonians 3:13; 1 Corinthians 3:4)
            B. The angels.  (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Mark 8:38; Matthew 25:31)
            C. His purpose is to establish the rule of righteousness.  (Psalm 2)

III. The cleansing of the earth begins.   (17-21)
            A. Thousands of years of mercy are ended with swift justice.
                        1.  The Beast is the anti-Christ.
                        2.  The Dragon is Satan.
                        3.  False Prophet.
            B. The kings of the earth are gathered for war.
                        1.  They came to fight Israel.  (Ezekiel 38:14-23; 39:17-18)
                        2.  But they end up fighting the Lord.
            C. The earth is cleansed from evil.  (Matthew 7:13-14)
