Speaker:  Pastor Bill Knepper
Main Point:  Marriage is the cement in the building blocks of society.

I. The argument from DESIGN.
            A. 64 chromosomes make up a human – 32 from the male and 32 from the female.

II. The argument from SCRIPTURE.
            A. Genesis 1:27  Humans are made in God’s image which is just not physical, but emotional.
                        1.  We show mercy, unity and have relationships.
                        2.  God has relationships as reflected in the Trinity, he created us in a relationship.
            B. Genesis 2:18  Complimentary relationships.
            C. Genesis 2:24  Become one flesh, intellectually, emotionally, as well as physically.

III. The argument from CULTURE.
            A. Property rights give favor to the family.
            B. Family is the key, father, mother, children.
            C. Rules protect and govern the family.

IV. Going on from here……..
            A. LOVE others.
                        1.  Reflect heart of God to others.
                        2.  Motivated by love.
                        3.  2 Timothy 1:7  Do not react out of fear.
                        4.  James 1:20  Anger of man does not??
            B. Understand the TERRAIN.
                        1.  Citizen of the US and state of Washington.
                        2.  Treat others with love, follow Christ, but can vote, campaign, and argue for our view.
                        3.  Rational approach – discuss our concerns.
                        4.  This effort started in 2006 and expanded several times since then, and does not limit future change.
            C. Support that which brings BALANCE.
                        1.  Right thing is to hear their position to find solutions to their problems but stand firm on our
                         position/views.
                        2.  Be loving and compassionate.
                        3.  Scriptures teach marriage equals one man and one woman.
