Main Point: God wants to replace your pride with Christ-like-humility.
I. He strips away pride. (5:6-14)
A. God will accomplish His work in your life. (v6-8)
B. Christ’s cross confronts and convicts. (v9)
C. Let the Holy Spirit strip away your masks. (v 10-14)
II. His stripes heal. (6:1-5)
A. Self-fulfillment is a restless pursuit. (6:1; cf. Isa. 26:3)
B. Find rest in Christ’s record. (v 2-3)
C. The cross disarms accusation. (v4-5; cf. Rom. 8:33)
III. His humiliation gives you standing. (6:6-14)
A. Selfishness is a life of reactions. (v 6-9; cf. Pr. 29:23)
B. Love’s action is awe-inspiring. (v10-11; cf. Ps. 66:5)
C. Let the overwhelming love of Christ work in you. (v13; cf. Rom. 8:35; 2 Cor. 5:14; Eph. 3:14-19)
