Passage:  2 Corinthians 2:5-17

Main Point:  Jesus heals our very soul when we trust in Him.

I. Sometimes Christians rebel against God.  (2:5-11)
            A. Sinful rebellion impacts the whole church.
            B. Repentance results in restoration and blessing to all.
            C. Both discipline and forgiveness are evidence of obedience.

II. Obeying Jesus in all things helps prevent sin. (2:12-17)
            A. Believers want God’s work to do well.
            B. The obedience of those in Christ speaks to a dying world.
            C. The church’s message is life freely found in Jesus Christ.

III. Any believer can struggle with sin.
            A. Justification happens in a moment.
            B. Sanctification happens over a lifetime.
            C. Make sure you are a part of God’s family.
