Passage:  2 Timothy 1:8-12

Main Point:  Decide to follow Jesus, no matter what the cost.

I. Suffering is part of our mission.
            A. Timothy is commanded to “suffer together with” Paul.
            B. Believers still suffer today for the Gospel.
            C. Jesus is close to those who suffer for him.  (Acts 9:1-9)

II. Jesus suffering for me was part of God’s plan.
            A. Don’t take grace for granted.
            B. God has always loved you.
            C. The proof of God’s love is Jesus Christ.

III. Eyes of faith see with an eternal perspective.
            A. We present Christ to a dying world.
            B. My resolve comes from a daily relationship with Jesus.
            C. I can rest today, knowing God holds my future.
