Passage:  2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

Main Point:  Praise God for who you are in Him and what He is doing in you.

I. See what God is doing in us and respond in praise.  (13-14)
            A. You are loved by Jesus.
            B. God chose you from eternity past.
            C. God called you into eternity future.

II. Respond with continual effort to grasp the truth. (15)
            A. Identities found in anything but Jesus will collapse.
            B. Without the Gospel, we have nothing.
            C. Our only measurable source of truth is Scripture.

III. Respond with a working dependence on God. (16-17)
            A. Christ’s comfort is a divine gift that does not pass away.
            B. Hope is a gift, and cannot be earned.
            C. God comforts us and urges us to continue on.
            D. God’s grace is revealed in our works and words.
