Passage:  Nehemiah 4:1-23

Main Point:  We fight by faith with words of truth, prayer and encouragement.

I. We are in a war of powerful words. (1-6)
            A. When God’s people grow, the enemy grows angry.
            B. Respond with prayer to persevere.  (Psalm 123:3-4)
            C. God renews our strength from within.

II. God will bring us through to victory. (7-14)  (Isaiah 54:17)
            A. God’s enemies unite to conspire against him.  (Psalm 2:1-2)
            B. Respond with prayer and plan for action.
            C. Remember God’s greatness to start expecting great things.  (Joshua 1:9)

III. Truth stops the enemy and frees us to work for God. (15-23)
            A. Knowing the enemy’s tactics and God truth is key to victory.
            B. God frees us from fear so we can serve with boldness.
            C. God gives all we need to serve in the face of opposition.  (Philippians 4:19)
