Passage:  Matthew 25:1-30

Main Point:  Live every day with firm faith in God’s promise.

I. We are accountable for our use of time.
            A. Marriage in the East was….
                        1.  Arranged by parents.
                        2.  A formal ceremony with a parade.
                        3.  A wedding feast at the groom’s home.
            B. The wedding bridesmaids had to wait.
            C. The main point is being ready.

II. We are accountable for our use of talent.
            A. People have different abilities.
            B. God rewards our effort done in faith.

III. We are saved by grace and rewarded for works.
            A. We are saved as God’s gift.  (John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9)
            B. We are rewarded as God promised.  (1 Corinthians 3:14; Revelation 4:10)
