Incorruptible Love

Passage: Ephesians 6:21-24

Main Idea: The Christian life is marked by loving relationships and sustained by God’s loving care, as we love Jesus with an incorruptible love

I. The Christian life is marked by loving relationships (v. 21-22).
            A. Paul sent Tychicus to inform the Ephesian believers.
                        Application: Am I engaging in genuine Christian community?
            B. Paul sent Tychicus to encourage the Ephesians believers.
                        Application: Who can I encourage and how?

II. The Christian life is sustained by God’s loving care (v. 23-24a).
            A. God gives us peace.
            B. God gives us love with faith.
            C. God gives us grace.
                        Application: Am I praying for these things for myself and for others?

III. The Christian life culminates in an incorruptible love for Jesus (v. 24b).
            A. Incorruptible love DOES NOT mean that our love is perfect.
            B. Incorruptible love DOES mean that our love is undying and eternal.
                        Application: How does this incorruptible love impact how we live?
            C. We set our hearts on Jesus daily.
            D. We practice the things that stir up our love for Jesus
            E. We invite others to love Jesus.
            F. We remember the foundation of our love – that God first loved us.
