Passage:  Matthew 26:31-56

Main Point:  True courage comes from truly trusting in the plans of God.

I. We often think more highly of ourselves than we should.  (31-35)
            A. Peter was certain of what he would do.
            B. Our greatest battle is in our own heart.

II. Jesus shows us how to find real strength.  (36-46)
            A. The sinless Christ surrenders His will.
            B. The battle we face is who is in charge.

III. The test reveals the truth of our trust.  (47-56)
            A. Jesus remains in full control yielded to the Father.
            B. Peter runs away in fear.
