Main Point:  Understand that Jesus is here.

I. Missing Jesus is the greatest tragedy of all.  (v. 19-28)
            A. Pride has its own agenda and rules.  (v 19, 21-25)
            B. Humility is concerned about the mission.  (v 20, 23, 27)
            C. Jesus won’t fit in your box.

II. Jesus is here.  (v. 29)
            A. John pointed out the Messiah.
            B. Jesus is the lamb who died in your place.  (cf. Genesis 22:8)
            C. When the debt is removed, you can stop paying it back.

III. The mission is to proclaim this message.  (v. 30-34)
            A. John’s mission is defined by scripture.  (v 30-31, cf. 23)
            B. John believed God’s testimony.  (v 32-33)
            C. Believe and proclaim.
