Main Point: When I experience the love of God in Jesus, I want to love like Jesus loved.
I. The love of God is greater than all my sin. (1-2)
A. Background.

B. I can be free from sin, and must guard against it.
C. Jesus talks to the Father for help in my faith struggles.
(Luke 22:31-32, Romans 8:34, cf. Romans 8:26-27)
D. Let Christ’s atoning love shape everything we do.
II. To know God is to experience His love and love Him back. (3-6)
A. Knowing God is not information but inner transformation.
(cf. John 14:21-23)
B. Wanting Jesus most of all results in spiritual growth.
(Philippians 3:7-14)
C. Without Father-Son fellowship, we have no fruitfulness.
(cf. John 14:1-8)
III. To know His love is to love each other sacrificially. (7-11)
A. If it is true, it isn’t new, and if it is new, it isn’t true.
(John 13:34)
B. The love of God is now seen physically in Jesus and in us.
C. The proof I belong to God is my love for other believers.
D. Resentment renders me useless for God.
