The Wisdom of the Cross (1 Corinthians 1:18-25)

Passage:  1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Main Point:  The message of a crucified Savior is the wisdom of God.

I. The cross seems absurd to the world.   (18-20)
         A. The lost are blind to what faith sees.
         B. The wisdom of the world is without merit.

II. The cross is salvation to the believer.   (21-22)
         A. God is not accessible by wisdom.
         B. But God is accessible by faith.

III. The cross is the only plan God offers.  (23-25)
            A. We preach Christ crucified.
                        1.  Some want more evidence.
                        2.  Some want a better argument.
            B. We preach Christ to everyone.
                        1.  He is believed by those who are called.
                        2.  He is offered to any who believe.
            C. Christ is God’s power and wisdom.
