Passage:  Colossians 3:20-4:1

Main Point:  Love leads us in all our relationships.

I. Children honor the Lord by obeying their parents.  (v 20)
            A. Parents have a job to do.
                        1.safety.
                        2.joy.
                        3.direction.
            B. But trust belongs with the Lord.

II. Parents produce great kids by not discouraging them.  (v 21)
            A. Parents can frustrate their kids.
                        1. consider carefully.  (How mature kids are at this)
                        2. give options. (Let them understand the options & consequences)
                        3. walk in their shoes.
            B. The goal is an amazing life not an angry one.  (Psalm 127:4)

III. Loving the Lords is the prime directive for us all.  (v 3:22-4:1)
            A. Serving God was the challenge in Paul’s day.
            B. Serving God is our goal today.
