Passage:  Genesis 29:31 – 30:24

Main Point:  I gain hope as I cast my cares on God and praise Him through thick and thin.

I. I learn more of God’s love song when I suffer.  (29:31-35)
            A. We will all encounter bitter disappointment.
            B. The brokenhearted who hope in God find healing.
            C. Faith in God changes my inner reaction to outer circumstances.

II. God teaches me to hope in Him as the Giver of Life.  (30:1-21)
            A. Jealousy is hateful idolatry.
            B. Watch out! My walk of faith will be imitated.
            C. The God of grace is always listening.
            D. God walks with me through life’s mix of joy and sorrow.

III. God’s uses broken people to bring Jesus to the world.  (v.22-24)
            A. Creation to Salvation is the work of the God of grace.
            B. God is transforming my focus from myself to Himself.
