Passage:  Genesis 22:1-24

Main Point:  Trials in life are overcome by obedient faith in God’s provision.

I. How I view and respond to trials reveals my true faith.  (v 1-2)
            A. Learn the difference between trials and temptations.
            B. The lesson to trust and wait is followed by trust and obey.
            C. Expect trials from God because the Christian life is not easy.

II. Focus on God’s promise, rather than demand explanation. (v 3-5)
            A. Abraham’s unquestioning obedience is stunning.
            B. God’s will never contradicts God’s promise.

III. God’s provision is perfect. (v 6-14)
            A. Meditate on the perfect love and trust of Father and Son.
            B. Meditate on the answered questions found in His provision.
            C. Meditate on the Son who bore my sin, suffered and died my death.

                                   THAT CROSS IS MINE!

            D. Meditate on the resurrection and return of Jesus for His bride.

IV. Letting go of the past, I walk with certain hope in Christ. (v 15-24)
