Main Point:  God’s friends grow to have God’s heart for others.

I. Abraham was called a friend of God. (v.1-8)
            A. God was his greatest permanent possession.
            B. Abraham recognizes a visit from the Lord.
            C. Friendship with God looks like humble service & worship.

II. Friendship with God blesses those around me. (v.9-15)
            A. God’s goodness to me is not too good to be true
            B. My good God does impossible things.
            C. Let the joy of God’s goodness flood your soul.

III. Friends of God pray compassionately for others. (v.16-33)
            A. God’s friend can intercede like no one else.  (John 15:15)
            B. Abraham appealed boldly and humbly to God’s justice.
            C. God may preserve the wicked, for the sake of the righteous.
            D. Friends of God grow to have the heart of God.
