Passage:  Galatians 4:12-20

Main Point:  Christ is my everything, I am free from needing man’s approval or fearing his disapproval.

I. The self-focused life refuses to hear God. (v.12-16)
            A. Pop the bubble: Behavior doesn’t make me special. (4:9-11)
            B. God’s people shine brightest against dark backdrops.
            C. God’s power is in the message, not the messenger.
            D. God plans to use broken people to reach broken people.

II. Personal relationships are powerful. (v.17-20)
            A. Watch out for manipulation of flattery and threats.
            B. True friends place truth above your feelings.  (Proverbs 27:6)
            C. Gentleness enables repentance.
            D. Tough love confronts sin in the lives of those I love.
