Worth the Wait (Genesis 41:1-57)

Main Point:  Persistent faith in the goodness of God results in a life of hope.

I. God actively communicates His message of Grace.  (v.1-24)
            A. God uses times of waiting to deepen faith and develop character.
            B. God disturbs sinners so we will wake up to our need for help.
            C. God takes time to fashion us into pictures of Christ.  (cf. Romans 8:28)
            D. Disturbed sinners find shalom in God’s answer to sin.

II. God offers salvation through one man. (v.25-45)
           
A. The tragedy of sin overshadows any good we do.
            B. God’s Word is urgent and true.   (cf. Deuteronomy 19:15)
            C. Surrender to the wisdom and authority of Jesus.

III. God uses suffering, brings healing and blesses many. (v.46-57))
            A. God used difficult trials to prepare Joseph for a difficult job.
            B. Joseph’s faith and humility survived fame and fortune.
            C. Jesus is the Bread of Life offered to all nations.
