Passage:  1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Main Point:  Boast in the Lord, not the work of man.

I. God has chosen the humble.
            A. Most of the saved are simple folk.
                        1.  Not many are degreed.
                        2.  Not many are powerful.
                        3.  Not many are influential.
            B. God has used the humble to shame the proud.
            C. The result is that no one can boast before God.

II. Our salvation is complete in Jesus Christ.
            A. Our salvation is from Him.
            B. Our salvation is in Jesus Christ.
            C. Jesus Christ became the wisdom of God for us.
                        1.  He is our righteousness.
                        2.  He is our sanctification.
                        3.  He is our redemption.

III. The only place for boasting is in the Lord.
            A. We do not come up to the demands.
            B. We cannot make-up what is lacking.
            C. We must receive the gift offered.
