Main Point:  Wisdom from God transforms thoughts, attitudes and actions.

I. Many claim to be wise. (v.13)
            A. Wisdom is characterized by humility.
            B. How you speak depends on how you think. (cf. Jas. 3:1-12)
            C. Wisdom is measured in action and attitude, not degrees.

II. Beware of worldly wisdom. (v.14-16)
            A. True wisdom is characterized by selfless love.
            B. Worldly wisdom has been corrupted by vanity. (cf. Ezekiel 28:17)
            C. Nothing good comes from self-focused reasoning.

III. True wisdom comes from God. (v.17-18)
            A. Wisdom is peaceable.
            B. Ask God for wisdom. (cf. James 1:5; Proverbs 2:3-6)
            C. Study the Bible for wisdom. (cf. Psalm 1; Proverbs 2, 3, 4)
