Passage:  Matthew 24:29-31

Main Point:  The Second Coming will bring God’s answer to man’s rebellion.

I. The judgment on rebellion has come.
            A. The sun, moon and stars will darken.  (Revelation 6:12-13, 8:12)
            B. The heavenly powers will be shaken.
                        1.  Revelation 12:4
                        2.  Isaiah 14:12-15
                        3.  Psalm 19
                        4.  Job 38:31-32

II. The sign of the Son of Man appears.
            A. He will come on the clouds.
                        1.  Acts 1:9
                        2.  Revelation 1:7
                        3.  Daniel 7:13
            B. There will be a distinct difference between…..
                        1.  Rapture 2^nd Coming
                        2.  Twinkling of an eye whole world sees 
                               (1 Corinthians 15:52, Matthew 24:27)
                        3.  Meet the Lord in the air stands on the Mt of Olives
                               (1 Thessalonians 4:17, Zechariah 14:4)
                        4.  Therefore encourage world will mourn 
                               (1 Thessalonians 4:18, Matthew 24:30)

III. The elect will be gathered.
            A. The First Resurrection is to life.  (Revelation 20:5)
                        1.  Part a the dead in Christ 1 Thessalonians 4:16 <– (Fruit of the Church)
                        2.  The alive in Christ  1 Thessalonians 4:17 <– (Fruit of the Church)
                        3.  Part b martyrs of the tribulation   Revelation 20:4 <– (Fruit of Israel)
                        4.  Old Testament believers  Matthew 24:31 <– (Fruit of Israel)
            B. The “Other” Resurrection is to judgment.  (Revelation 20:13)
