Passage:  Genesis 5:1-6:8

Main Point:  Sin and death are real, but so is God’s plan to end both.

I. We are given a bright hope in a dark world. (Ch. 5)
            A. Praise God for new beginnings. (Galatians 6:15, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
            B. Pray for revival.
            C. Walk with God’s help.
            D. Repent and rest in the promised rescue.

II. God’s rescue plan includes mercy and judgment. (6:1-8)
            A. Compromise deadens devotion.
            B. Human ability cannot overcome sin and death.
            C. Unrestrained sin results in unrestrained judgment.
            D. Jesus is God’s promised rescue from sin and judgment.
