Main Point:  Listen to those who speak the truth to your heart.

I. God can use anyone to build His kingdom.
            A. God used Amos.  
                        1. Amos was a shepherd and a farmer.   (v 1:1, 7:14)
                        2. Amos was an outsider, a Judean in Samaria.  
                        3. Amos was obedient.  
            B. God warns the people of judgment.   (v 1:3, 2:16)

II. God rebukes the nation’s sins.
            A. The people do evil for comfort’s sake.   (v 3:10)
            B. The people crush the poor.   (v 4:1)
            C. The people silence the righteous.   (V 5:12, 7:10-15)

III. God will call everyone to account.
            A. Amos was given five visions from God.  (Chapters 7-9)
            B. The believer stands squarely on faith in God’s character. 
                        1. Worship the Lord from the heart
                        2. Clean up the wrong and do right
                        3. Trust the Lord your God in everything
