The New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:9-22:5)

Passage:  Revelation 21:9-27 and 22:1-5

Main Point:  At last the fellowship between God and His creation will be what it was intended to be in the first place.

I. The city’s design reveals great beauty.   (21:9-21)
            A. The city is radiant in its glory.
                        1.  Jesus is the Light of the world.
                        2.  This city is also made of people.  (Ephesians 2:19-22)
            B. The city is grand in its size.
            C. The city is welcoming in its entrances.  (Ephesians 2:14-18)

II. The city’s temple is the Father and the Son.   (22-27)
            A. The Lord God and the Lamb are the sanctuary.
            B. The glory of the Lord is the city’s light.
            C. The gates will never close.  (John 17:24)

III. The city’s river waters the tree of life.   (22:1-5)
            A. The river comes from the throne.
            B. The leaves will heal the nations.
            C. The saints will see the face of God.
