The Incarnation of the Son of God (Genesis 3:15)

Main Point:  Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human.

I. The Old Testament presents the humanity of Christ.
            A. The prophecies pointed to a man.  (Genesis 3:15)
            B. The sacrifices pointed to a man.  (Exodus 12:5-7)
            C. The types pointed to a man.  (Genesis 22:10, 13)

II. The New Testament proves the humanity of Christ.
           
A. He was born of a woman.  (Luke 2:6,7)
            B. He was limited as a man.  (Matthew 4:2; John 4:6; 19:28)
            C. His names reveal His humanity.

III. The Bible portrays the work of Christ.
            A. Jesus reveals God to mankind.  (Matthew 11:27; John 1:18)
            B. Jesus destroys the works of the devil.  (1 John 3:8; Colossians 2:13-15; Hebrews 2:14)
            C. Jesus is the merciful High Priest.   (Hebrews 2:16-18)
            D. Jesus fulfills the covenant to David.   (2 Samuel 7:16)
            E. Jesus is the Head over all to the church.  (Ephesians 1:22)
            F. Jesus shows the life of faith.  (1 Peter 2:21)
