Passage:  Matthew 2:13-18

Big Idea:  Yield to God’s plan and rejoice in Jesus, our great Salvation!

I. See what God is doing.(1-12)
            A. God is speaking to us through His Word
            B. God perfectly provides.
            C. God provides a perfect Redeemer.
                        Gal. 4:4 – the fullness of time… born under the law…
                        Heb. 5:8-9 – learned obedience from suffering… made perfect…
                        John 1:14 – dwelt among us
                        Phil. 2:7 – make in human likeness
                        Heb. 2:14 – shared in their humanity
                        Heb. 4:15 – understands our weakness… tempted… without sin
                        Rom. 8:3 – sent as an offering for sin
                        John 11, 14, 17-18 – Jesus laid down his own life
                        Mark 10:45 – gave His life as a ransom for many
            D. God perfectly fulfills prophecy.

II. Rest in the mighty hand of God. (16-18)
            A. Compare the surrendered life to the anxious life.
            B. Beware the slavery of control.
            C. Jesus frees us from the deeds of the flesh.
