Passage:  2 Timothy 2:8, Luke 24:1-35
Speaker: Pastor Josh Holland
Main Idea:  Remember the reality, centrality and the beauty of the resurrection.

I. The resurrection of Jesus is historical fact.
            A. The empty tomb was hard to miss.
            B. The first witnesses were soldiers and women.
            C. Grave robbers would remove the grave clothes.
            D. The authorities did not refute the fact.

II. It is the central pillar of the Christian faith.
            A. If Jesus is not raised, my faith is useless.  (1 Cor. 15:3,17)
            B. If he is raised, it proves my justification.
               (Romans 4:24-25; Matthew 26:18; Romans 8:33-34)

            C. It gives me power for life-change today.
               (Ephesians 1:18-20; Colossians 2:11-12; 1 Peter 3:21)

            D. It gives me hope for eternity. (1 Peter 1:3)

III. The resurrection gives me Jesus-centered purpose.
            A. I worship and serve the exalted King of kings.  (Ephesians 1:20-23)

            B. The life He gave me belongs to Him.  (2 Corinthians 5:15)
