Passage:  Genesis 23:1-20

Main Point:  Faith in Christ gives me hope for the future and peace for today.

I. Abraham wept as he mourned the loss of Sarah. (1-4)
            A. Sarah is remembered for her outward and inward beauty.
            B. Sarah is remembered for her faith in the God of grace
            C. Faith in Christ helps me pass through grief to resurrection hope.
            D. I will set my eyes on the city above, prepared for me by Jesus.

II. God’s promises are fulfilled in His time and His way. (5-20)
            A. Abraham planned for a resurrection in the promised land.
            B. Israel’s claim to the land is from God, not from man.
            C. We are still here because there is still work to be done.
