Passage:  Colossians 2:6-15

Main Point:  Never allow any passing fad to take your eyes off Jesus.

I. Stay on course by growing in Christ.  (v 6-8)
            A. The journey begins with Christ.
            B. The journey continues with Christ.
                        1. The believer is rooted.
                        2. The believer is building.
                        3. The believer is maturing.
                        4. The believer is thanking.
            C. The journey is always about Christ.

II. Jesus Christ is all you ever need.  (v 9-10)
            A. The fullness of the godhead is in Jesus.
            B. The believer is filled by Jesus.

III. Every need is met in the completeness of Jesus.  (v 11-15)
            A. Ancient rituals are replaced by the work of Jesus.
            B. New rituals are revealed by the work of Jesus.
                        (e. g. baptism)
            C. Your life is redeemed by the work of Jesus.
            D. The sin debt is removed by the work of Jesus.
            E. Our enemies are routed by the work of Jesus.
