Passage:  Colossians 2:16-19

Main Point:  Jesus will guide you to balance in life.

I. There are some large egos in religion.
            A. Some seek to destroy you with legalism.  (16)
            B. Some seek to destroy you with libertinism.
            C. These people are driven by an inflated ego.  (18)


II. Counterfeits come in a variety of styles.  (18)
            A. They will create rules based on food and drink.
            B. They will create rules about special days.
            C. They will call you to ascetic practices.
            D. They will call you to worship angels.
            E. They will declare that they can see heavenly visions.

III. You need nothing more and nothing less than Jesus.
            A. Don’t worship the shadow, worship the substance.  (19)
            B. The Head of the body is Jesus Christ.  (19)
            C. The Head will feed and lead you.  (19)
                        1.  Jesus will show you how to set boundaries when needed.
                        2.  Jesus will adjust them as you mature.
